Be A Good Person

This is simple. It truly is.

BE A GOOD PERSON.

BE KIND TO EACH OTHER.

HAVE EMPATHY.

2020 has been a tough year for a lot of people, we know that. However, for MANY people, tough times aren’t exclusive to 2020. If you are someone saying, “I can’t wait for 2020 to be over”, you are in for awful disappointment when 2021 arrives on January 1st. If WE don’t change, nothing will change. The smallest acts of kindness will make all the difference. Say hello next time you walk past a stranger. Compliment someone when they least expect it. Send a friend you’ve been out of touch with a text and ask how they are doing.

I challenge you to do something kind for someone else immediately after reading this that you wouldn’t normally do.

This is a friendly reminder that you never know what someone is going through. You don’t know what it takes for them to keep the appearance that they are composing themselves externally, when they are struggling internally.

The best quality you could carry is empathy.

If you’re in need of motivation to boost your kindness, I highly recommend giving Jamie Russo a follow on Twitter. He has been a great source of light.

If you’re reading this and fall into the category of someone who has struggled recently, in the past, or you just want to know where resources exist, click here for mental health resources or go to mentalhealth.gov. Know that you are NEVER alone.

You matter.

As my childhood hero said:

“There are three ways to ultimate success:

The first way is to be kind.

The second way is to be kind.

The third way is to be kind.” - Fred Rogers
